Legal papers filed Thursday say that Rep. Matt Gaetz went to a party in 2017 with a 17-year-old girl who is at the center of an alleged sex trafficking case.

Notus says that the filings use affidavits based on three witness statements that are still secret and put the Florida member at the party.

In the documents, one witness says that the girl, a junior in high school, was naked and that people were there to “engage in sexual activities” while drugs like cocaine and ecstasy were present.

The papers were submitted by lawyers trying to get back the money they spent on a lawsuit brought by Gaetz’s lobbyist friend Chris Dorworth, who is said to have held the party at his home in Florida.

In the papers, the teenage girl is only known as A.B., according to Notus. One of the documents says, “The discovery made in this case so far shows that on Saturday, July 15, 2017, Dorworth hosted a party at his home with the following guests present:”. It then lists a number of people, including “A.B.” and “Matt Gaetz.”

Notus says that the new papers are the first time that “that sworn testimony has been referenced in public court filings alleging that the congressman attended one of the long-rumored parties linked to an alleged underage sex scandal.”

The Daily Beast wrote about a confession letter made by Gaetz’s friend Joel Greenberg in 2021. He wrote in the note that Gaetz paid him to set up sex with several women and a 17-year-old girl.

The Beast also showed private Venmo logs that showed Gaetz did send money to Greenberg. At one point, when Greenberg was 18, she used a nickname for the teenager.

Greenberg was found guilty of several charges, including sex trafficking with a child, and is now serving an 11-year term.

Gaetz had denied having sex with a minor or being involved in sex trafficking in the past, and a DOJ probe ended without charges being brought against the congressman.
